about
“As a yoga teacher my intention is often love and bringing people together. Individually we are one drop, together we are an ocean.”
KULA SUP IS FAR MORE THAN WHAT MEETS THE EYE.
Owner and creator, Angie Hall, is a master at developing and fostering a passionate tribe of like-minded, water-loving, nature-appreciating individuals. This is a key component in feeling confident exploring your personal boundaries while on the board. The Kula SUP experience creates the prime environment for gently pushing yourself to that magical place just outside your comfort zone where the most internal development occurs. Your playful switch automatically turns on while adventuring with the Kula SUP Tribe. Falling off the board generates laughter instead of embarrassment. The ultimate serenity found while alone on your board aids the stress, anxiety, fear, and judgement in dropping away. It is like the reset button to clear the mind of life’s daily clutter.

There is nothing but camaraderie and support from the crew that Kula SUP attracts. The community continues to escapade in the wild even when the SUP season winds down. If the Kula SUP Tribe sounds like something you want to be a part of, sign up for one of our adventures today! Let’s play outside together!

Owner
Kula SUP founder Angie Hall is a Yoga Alliance registered E-RYT 200, American Red Cross certified lifeguard, and Paddle Fit/SUP Yoga certified.

As a former Junior Olympic gymnast Angie has always been passionate about fitness. She became a personal trainer in 2006 and then a certified Yoga Instructor in 2010. After spending over 10 years working in the fitness industry she found her true love for the outdoors when she took an 8-week road trip camping around the United States in the summer of 2015. She then decided to combine her love for fitness and the outdoors when she discovered Paddle boarding to be the perfect fit for both her passions!

Angie’s classes are charged with her positive energy and uplifting spirit. She smoothly incorporates her passion for movement, and the outdoors into every class. As an instructor, her goal is to unite individuals from all walks of life, as we are all reminded of the love, respect, and gratitude we have for each other, and ourselves. She provides a safe and fun environment for her students to have the best experience on land and out on the water.
Meet Kula
The man, the myth, the legend
Where did the name Kula come from?…
Kula the tortoise, of course!
Kula is Angie’s 80.9lb. Sulcata Tortoise.
He is 26 years old and Angie named him when she was 10 years old not knowing the meaning behind the name.
In Sanskrit Kula means Love and Community.

Meet Kaia
The youngest member of the tribe!
Kaia is Angie & Jon's little wild child.
The name Kaia in Hawaiian means "The Sea"
"This picture is from Kaia's 1st successful Paddleboard Class! She's come a long way from only allowing me to stay close to shore or absolutely refusing to get on the board in the Mommy and me paddle 😆. This past Saturday with @kula_sup proved to be a reminder of how important it is to keep encouraging our kids to do something challenging or out of their comfort zone. After a different life jacket and a baby doll we were able to have her little friends convince her to get out there. It took about 15 minutes to get her comfortable but then she was the happiest proudest little 3 year old... smiling, laughing, observing nature, and wildlife, and even joined in on the water gun fight + got in the water! She is now asking all her friends and cousins if they want to come paddleboarding with her and swim in the river. 🤗🥰 Proud mama right here! If it doesn't work out the first time it's all good... You can always come back and try again!" ~ Angie

What classes do you teach? Intro, Guided Paddles, Yoga
How did you get into SUP? Started paddling during Kula’s first year and fell in love with it, so I bought my own board.
What do you love about Kula SUP? Being out on the water with an amazing community.
What do you like when you’re not on your board? I enjoy yoga, running, and hiking.
What is your spirit animal? Goldfish - they are there for those hoping for good luck or a sudden surge of strength. Call on them when you need to make important decisions. Ted Lasso tells his players to be goldfish because goldfish are said to have a 10-second memory. His advice to "be a goldfish" means to move on from mistakes rather than lingering on them.

How did you get into SUP? I took a Kula SUP class 8 years ago and was hooked; bought my board a few weeks after my first Kula SUP class.
What do you love about Kula SUP? The atmosphere that the instructors create with the students. Being out on the water is a very strong bonding experience; all the instructors do what they can to make everyone feel safe and confident.
What do you like when you’re not on your board? I’m a runner and find running in the woods is very meditative. I am a certified running coach and meditation teacher. I like to combine these skills with others to make them realize they can do things they never thought they could do, whether running faster or finding a way to stay calm in the chaos.
What is your spirit animal? Owl - according to some owls can symbolize inner wisdom, change, transformation, intuitive development, good luck, self-actualization, sacred knowledge, and vision beyond illusion, and deceit.

What do you like when you’re not on your board? Some other fun hobbies are making homemade kefir, yogurt, and sourdough. When I have free time, I enjoy reading historical fiction.

CARA
"There are many things I love about Kula SUP. Of course I love the paddles, the opportunity to connect with nature, the wine tours, and unforgettable retreats, but I think what I love most is the feeling Kula SUP creates. By bringing people together, Kula SUP creates community, togetherness, and positivity. I never would have met some of the amazing people I now know or have had some of my most cherished experiences if it weren’t for Kula SUP. And of course, I love Angie. There is no Kula SUP without Angie. I believe the universe puts certain people in your life during certain times, and Angie came into my life right when I needed it. I had just quit my job in a cut-throat industry I had been unhappy in for three years and moved back home to Delaware from Philly. I had no idea what I was going to do next, what direction I had, or where I even belonged. That’s when I found Kula SUP. The feeling of community and acceptance Angie creates with her business kept me coming back every time. Now it is my third season with Kula SUP, and I couldn’t imagine life without it. Being a part of the Kula SUP Tribe is so special and important to me, I find myself wanting to share it with others so they too can experience the beauty of togetherness Kula SUP naturally creates. I have loved watching Kula SUP grow and seeing the positive influence it has had on it’s community. I could not be more thankful to be a part of this tribe, and I can’t wait to see where Kula SUP takes us next! #tribelife #kulasupknowswhatsup"
